Animal farm

In class we made animal masks for a book we are reading. This book is called Animal farm by George Orwell.

The class has made these mask for a play we are going to do.Here is what I got from the story.

“ Animal farm is about the animals not being happy on the farm so they decide to fight back and take over the farm from Mr Jones, it seem to be going okay but then the pigs take over for good"

I am a dog and I don’t have a name and my friend Taylor is a donkey called Benjamin.

Hello  My name is Eilish I am 9 years old.

My school is called  Hokitika Primary School.    

I  live in New Zealand  and my town is Hokitika.

I love reading and  making new friends.  

When I grow  up I want to own a cake shop with all different types of cake from chocolate to vanilla. 

My favourite author is Jacqueline Wilson and I like to read books set in World War II.

I love  to write Realistic fiction.

Writer Workshop helped me by showing me to look at my writing and to revise it.

I have learned that I can do a good piece of writing but I need to stop thinking that I can’t and think I can.

The bully

Once there lived a doll. This doll was named Annabelle. She had brown hair, a blue dress, and white shoes. One day Annabelle was in her box on the shelf in a big, big store. She was waiting to get bought. Then all of a sudden her box started to move. She did not know what was happening then she thought perhaps she would be going to a new home.

 On the way to her new home, she could not see what was happening because she got put into a bag. Then her bag started to move. She saw a little hand dig down and pick up her box and pulled it up. Annabelle saw a little girl and she was happy. The little girl opened up the box and pulled Annabelle up into her arms. When she got to her new home the little girl carried Annabelle in. When Annabelle saw her new home, she felt like the luckiest toy in all the world.

 She wanted to go in and say hi to all the toys. When they went in Annabelle so badly wanted to go and see where she would be staying. When it was time to go and see the toy room she thought, ‘what if the other toys don’t like me ́? But it was too late. Annabelle went into the room; she was so so happy. The other toys were so excited to see her too. But there was one toy that did not like her. This toy had a box for a head and lego arms and blocks for feet.

 Annabelle wanted to say hi but he did not. It was Annabelle's first night in her new home. While she was asleep the mean toy got a vivid and started to draw on Annabelle’s face. The next morning all the toy’s saw Annabelle’s face. They did not know what to say. When the little girl got up she screamed she called for her mum and dad. Annabelle didn’t know what was happening.

 The toy’s told Annabelle what box head had done to her face she started to cry. The next day the other toys came up with a plan; that they shared it with Annabelle. She agreed so they set it up. When they had finished they waited and waited. The mean toy walked straight into their trap.

 Annabelle liked the trap. It was made up of a rope and when box head stepped into it he flew right upside in mid-air then he stepped into it went BOOM. ’’What are you doing?’’ the mean toy yelled. The police toy said,” you know what you have done so you’re going away for a long long time”.Then the other toy’s had a big party to celebrate and they lived in peace.

My Calendar Art

For Calendar Art, I learned how to make different patterns. I loved making the pattern like a snake the best. You can buy mouse pads, calendars, mugs, notebooks and cards with my artwork from the school office. This supports our school fundraising. Below is my calendar art

Shantytown

At Shantytown we had to solve thing like why the person was taking the pillow and blankets from the hospital. To solve codes we were all over Shantytown. In the jewellery shop there was a note and at the hospital we stop for lunch and we solved more. The person that was taking all the things, we got his fingerprint off the bakers.

It started to rain so we had to put on this rain jacket, we had to put on a weird way but we could go and finish all the activities. We were about to finish the activity the bell rang for the train so we went on the train to see if it was the person that was taking all the things.

When it was finished the lady gave a piece of paper, we did it and it said go to the church. Then the lady popped up behind the door and gave as a new paper. We solved it and had to go to the school to put paint on it, we got it. The person that was taking all the thing was George Brown. Then we had to go back to Hokitika to go home. The end.

Skink

On Wednesday Jamie’s taua brought in common skinks. We went to some places around the school and we found the best place for them to live. They looked happy there. They were brown. They had little eyes. I think there were four or three. I like the one that went under the rock. They like to eat berries, mothss, cockroaches, slugs, crickets, earthworms, grasshoppers, grubs and more things.

It was exciting.
